Speaker: Dr. Marlon D. King
Dr. Marlon D. King is a transformative educational leader and one of Tennessee’s longest-serving superintendents, with 30 years of experience spanning roles from classroom teacher to state leader. Having successfully guided three unique school districts—Haywood, Fayette, and Jackson-Madison Counties—Marlon is recognized for driving strong fiscal solvency, rising student enrollment, and soaring graduation rates through proactive "Choose Public Schools" campaigns.
A two-time Regional Superintendent of the Year (2024, 2026), he excels at transforming challenging school boards into celebrated "Boards of Distinction." His peers statewide have recognized this impact, electing him to the governing boards of the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (TOSS) and the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Board of Control (TSSAA).
A University of Mississippi graduate and recipient of its prestigious Outstanding Doctor of Education Award (awarded to only one student), Dr. King lives his commitment to public education daily.
